Car hire at Alicante airport can be unpredictable particularly during busy periods. The two companies are good and usually the best deals around. DoYouSpain we have found extremely good and you don't have to pay in advance.

Local Accommodation

For those clients who who cannot  stay Saturday to Saturday or wish to add a few days onto the beginning or end of their holidays there a couple of local Hotels in the neighbourhood which offer good and some relatively inexpensive over night accommodation.

Located just outside Moraira on the Benitachetell road about 10 minutes drive from the villa. Again offers good 3 star accommodation . Prices vary depending on season 90-125€ per night for 2 people .

5. Swiss Hotel: ØØØØ

Located in the hillsides surrounding Moraira. This very smart 4 star hotel is about 10 minutes drive from the villa.

4. Hotel Sant Jaume: ØØØ

Located just outside Benissa about 10 minutes drive from the villa. 3 star hotel prices again vary depending on time of year 80-121€ per night for 2 poeple.

Security

Moraira is one of the safest places on the Costa Blanca. But like all situations it would be wise to ensure that you maintain security diligence at all times. In particular, we have been informed that there are certain criminal groups that operate out of the major holiday airports. Our advice is that you should be watchful when you first arrive at the airport and when you first arrive at the property. Remember you are a prime target for criminals when you first arrive in another country for two reasons 1. your passports 2. most travellers are usually carrying cash.

So a little bit of security awareness is worth it. It is always advisable to lock the main entrance doors even when in the house as in the summer most people spend time outside. Having said that we have had no previous experience of anybody being robbed. These criminal elements tend to concentrate on the larger resorts like Benidorm etc.
